Recognizing the important role of teacher preparation in developing the 21st century skills of learners and toward promoting integration in the ASEAN region, SEAMEO INNOTECH has undertaken this research to identify the initiatives for teacher preparation of the ASEAN Member States in response to the demands of ASEAN Integration.
SEAMEO INNOTECH has undertaken this research to identify the initiatives for teacher preparation of the ASEAN Member States in response to the demands of ASEAN Integration. This is in support of one of the sub-goals in the ASEAN WPE 2016-2020 which is to provide capacity-building programs for teachers, academics, and other key stakeholders in the education community. It is also is in alignment with the SEAMEO Priority Area on teacher professional development and strategic priorities of SEAMEO INNOTECH in its 9th and 10th Five-year Development Plan (FYDP) to focus on research activities on the policy and programmatic responses of the Ministries of Education to increasing ASEAN regional integration and teacher development.
This research utilizes a descriptive case study design on the educational policy implementation of teacher preparation in response to the demands of increasing ASEAN integration.
