SEAMEO INNOTECH and the Goethe-Institut join forces in order to establish a regional platform aiming at the development of digital educational media for STEM in Southeast Asia. The platform aims at fostering project-oriented thinking among educators for the creative use of digital resources in education environments, enabling the exchange of experiences and good practice examples and at creating a discussion platform for ICT within the sphere of STEM education.
The project primarily targets teachers and students at secondary school level as well as other target groups and stakeholders. The project’s essential mission is to foster skills in STEM through digital resources available in multiple national languages of the region. Moreover, the project shall consolidate teaching methods that encourage and allow for both virtual and real-life learning experiences through project-specific discoveries.
The project is divided into the following four phases:
I. Project concept development and preparation (2015-2017; completed)
II. Initial implementation and capacity building (2018-2019; active)
III. Foundation for expanded and long-term implementation (2020-2021)
IV. Permanent operation of the platform and possible parallel expansion of scope to incorporate further academic subjects (for example foreign language learning) as part of a comprehensive regional digital education platform (starting 2022)
