Monthly Spotlight is an electronic publication of SEAMEO INNOTECH which features a certain research or learning program. For the month of July 2019, we feature disaster risk reduction (DRR) in education.

Disaster may strike at any time and place. And the education sector plays a significant role in disaster mitigation, response, and recovery. Schools serve as a central point in most communities — be it for learning, cultural gathering, or social bonding. Making it the focal point in disaster risk reduction (DRR) education for the whole community is a proven effective approach.
