Before I comment/reply to your post Sir Engel, allow me to commend first po your reaction on the podcast. Your input po are great and written creatively. I enjoyed reading it.
On the context of offense and defense, allow me to introduce to you the term “digital boundary”, it is an imaginary line that will make you realized two things, (1) “I cannot go beyond this line” and (2) “I will not allow you to go beyond my line”. It is one way of measuring if you already reached your limitation in the online world and if someone already hit below your belt. With this mindset, netizen, whether Digital Natives or Immigrants, will have this sense of awareness in the cyberspace.
In the first podcast we listened, the speaker enumerated the benefits of Digital technology at the same time, reiterated that this benefits will only be achieved if digital technology is properly utilized. And based on this podcast (4th podcast), it can be harmful due to 2 main reason. MISUSE and ABUSE.
Misuse is the incorrect use of the digital resources while in the other hand, Abuse is the excessive use of these gadgets. Self-Regulation, Self- Discipline and Self-Awareness are the keys. Parents, teachers and other significant people around our learners will be a great help in reminding them but still, is will always start from “SELF”.- This reply was modified 3 years, 11 months ago by weslytayag.

Allow me to share with you my insights on how digital technology helps us in the field of education,,
As we embrace the new normal in education where there is no face to face interaction, unless vaccine is available, education amidst this pandemic is really a game changer in the academe. From the traditional actual teaching, CoViD19 opens variety of modalities to the learners making our education healthier and more diverse.
Since situation urges us to quickly shift to different learning delivery models, and as technology continues to improve, platform tools also evolve based on the need of the netizen and continuously add special features suited for an engaging online session. Now, aside from introducing video conferencing tools like Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, other tools are now being presented to make the learning engaging, fun and most of all, student centered. These tools have special features to open opportunity for interaction, they provide on-time responses among students and can immediately give feedbacks from the teachers. Some of these are Mentimeter, Quizizz, Kahoot and the Socrative. Another one that makes the online session more exciting on the part of learners is digitizing all actual activities conducted that are convertible and be done in online format.
As we continue to advocate that education must continue, technology is with us to help us, both digital immigrants and digital natives, in providing accessible, quality, relevant and liberating education.

Can we also conclude that the time spent in digital technology is directly proportional to that of its benefits.. meaning, the more time we spent in digital technology, the more benefits we can get?
