Online Safety and Digital Citizenship is everybody’s concern. Other people say that if you want to be free from other problems, you shouldn’t have a social media account or should not engage in any online activities. This might be true to some people in some areas but it is contrary to many people. Having no social media account and by not engaging in any online activities would mean they are lifeless or they feel that they are no longer a person especially this “New Normal” where many have shifted to online business to sustain their living. Restrictions brought by Covid-19 Pandemic make it impossible to people to be in touch regularly with their families, friends, and co-workers but because most if not all people are members of the digital world, the impossible become possible. These only show that having digital tools and social media accounts are part of our daily living or it is already a necessity to many. Because of this feeling, other people will take advantage to the complexities of the online world. The continuous increased of members in the digital world, open the doors to opportunities and risks. Hence, the importance of promoting Digital Citizenship and Online Safety cannot be denied and it is everybody’s responsibility especially those who are in the education sector to educate the young who are prone to the risks of the online world.
