Benefits of Digital Technology

Digital technology makes our life easy. We can send communication, messages and do our task efficiently and effectively. As I observed digital technology brought so many enjoyable perks in our lives, as an example, we can have e-commerce where we can buy our needs and just wait for he delivery in our doorstep. We can sell our products and other stuffs or we can barter it online. We can also use pay-maya, Gcash and Bank transfer to pay our bills without going out. We can find work and have salaries. In addition we can travel virtually even in the farthest place in this world without stepping out of our home specially in this of pandemic. In our government, during election time, before it takes 2 days or more to finished the casting of votes, now because of the digital technology, in just a day we can finished casting the votes and even announcing the winning candidates.
In the context education especially in ALS,teachers include the ICT as an experiential learning design, where in learners engage in real technology world not just theory. Apps, videos, PPTs and other materials are readily available online , it’s up to the teacher to use it in order to address the learning needs. By using this it will enhance the learning experience of our learners. Just bear in mind that in every ICT that we include in our instructional plan, there is a purpose so that it won’t be destructive to the learners.

Even in a simple gadget that we have we can use and include ICT, it’s purpose depends on how a teacher use it. We should keep on learning.

I share the same insight Mam Gie. Hearing the podcast about the Benefits of Digital Technology made me realize how lucky we are to be living in the present when there are a lot of opportunities brought about by the digital rise. Digital technology indeed plays an important role in making our lives easier and our works quicker and more efficient. We also have to remember that in order to make the most out of these perks we have to equip ourselves with the necessary skills in ICT. Possibilities are endless as they say in the digital world.

With all those benefits that are enumerated, it also made me realize how big our role is as educators especially that we are catering the lost, the last and the least of the society. It is important that we let our learners know and experience these benefits because it will help them to improve their lives and reach their goals. And what better way to this is for us to really incorporate ICT to their learning experiences. As we explore new things in the digital world, we should also share it to them. Let us stimulate their curiosity towards these things. Let us motivate our learners to explore and try new digital applications, platforms and the likes too. Maximize it by  incorporating the use of technology in their learning experiences through lesson planning and engaging activities. We should also use the ICT to enhance our learners’ learning experience.

Teachers’ role is vital to help the learners realize the value and the benefits of digital technology.
