ACCOUNTANT
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the maintenance of accounts and preparation of financial statements of both the Center and the Provident Fund/Retirement Fund according to a standard accounting practice. Ensures availability of accurate accounting information for management reference. Implements the Center’s accounting policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation of Trial Balance and other monthly financial reports. Ensure availability of accurate accounting information for management reference.
- Conduct initial review all subsidiary ledgers and registers;
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all peso and dollar bank accounts, ensuring submission by the 10th day of each month. Adjusted balances (bank & book) should tally with ledger balances.
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation of Trial Balance and other financial reports of the Provident Fund/Retirement Fund System
- Process Provident Fund transactions. Ensure accuracy and completeness of entries and vouchers;
- Generate monthly trial balance and general ledger;
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers and registers;
- Offer technical support in the provision of fiscal year-end financial audit requirements, assist in scanning of sample vouchers/documentations requested by financial auditors.
- Upload summary of 2nd and 3rd quarters’ budget utilization per project/course in the intranet within 5 working days after release of quarterly F/S.
- Thoroughly check the completeness and accuracy of ledgers and registers in preparation for bookbinding. Ensure that all records are safekept in a locked cabinet.
- Ensure that all transactions for the month are processed and encoded into the system on or before the Sth working day of the succeeding month. All expenses should be charged to the correct account, cost center, and/or project.
- Develop and uphold effective internal controls and procedures for preparation of financial reports and analyses. Recommend enhancements to ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely accounting, adhering to relevant accounting policies and guidelines.
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Attainment
- Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
Licensure
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant
Work Experience
- Technical knowledge in SAP Business One is an advantage
- Computer literate
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel
- Willing to undergo extensive training on Finance-related competencies
- Can work under pressure
- Willing to work on extended hours and holidays
- With typing skills
