INNOTECH TRANSFERS ICEXCELS TECHNOLOGY TO NEAP
The National Educators’ Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) under the Department of Education (DepED) will soon implement the next offerings of ICeXCELS program. This development is in line with the agreement signed between SEAMEO INNOTECH and DepED concerning the transfer of the ICeXCELS technology to the NEAP.
For two years, SEAMEO INNOTECH has taken several actions to prepare NEAP on the various aspects of flexible learning course implementation.
In 2009, three NEAP staff were seconded to the Center for a deeper understanding of ICeXCELS. The secondment offered opportunity for hands-on training on the implementation of flexible learning courses. At the same time, it gave the NEAP staff exposure on course orientations and the revalidation process that comes at the conclusion of each batch.
More recently, with NEAP’s identification of its ICeXCELS regional coordinators, SEAMEO INNOTECH ran a five-day seminar-workshop on flexible learning course delivery and implementation. The workshop also involved regional officials of the DepED.
NEAP should be able to take full charge of the ICeXCELS program, off the hands of SEAMEO INNOTECH, after the culmination of the DepED eXCELS III in mid-November this year.
