INNOTECH Statement on the Resumption of Classes in the Philippines

Some 24 million Filipino learners in elementary and high school, with their 900,000 teachers, resume active learning tomorrow. In doing so, they join the rest of Southeast Asian learners who avail of the opportunity to learn despite the changes prompted by the Covid 19 Pandemic. INNOTECH, the Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization, extols the efforts and preparations made by the Department of Education in ensuring a safe learning environment for learners and teachers. We enjoin everyone to continually support these efforts, recalling that learning does not happen in a single day but through a sustained process, gaining knowledge and skills to achieve learning goals.

INNOTECH pioneered in innovative learning delivery systems since the 1970s. Many of the innovations applied in today’s learning space stemmed from earlier research. We support the efforts of the Philippine education sector, its stakeholders and partners and pledge to continue sharing and exchanging knowledge and best practices in education in Southeast Asia.
