INNOTECH partners with PEMEA for National Convention on Educational Measurement and Evaluation
SEAMEO INNOTECH partnered with the Philippine Educational Measurement and Evaluation Association, Inc. (PEMEA) for the National Convention on Educational Measurement and Evaluation (NCEME) 2017. The convention held last 23-25 August 2017 in Manila was themed “Innovations and Issues in Assessment in the K to 12 and Higher Education Institutions”.
As part of the Center’s involvement in the event, Dr. Ramon C. Bacani delivered a welcome message to the participants consisting of teacher educators, basic education teachers, test administrators and other education stakeholders. Dr. Sherlyne Almonte-Acosta from the Center’s Educational Research Unit also presented on the assessment systems in Southeast Asia. She discussed about the models, successes, and challenges of the said assessment system.
The National Convention on Educational Measurement and Evaluation (NCEME) 2017 aims for teacher educators, basic education teachers, test administrators and other education stakeholders to: (1) acquire knowledge and understanding of student assessment across levels and disciplines; (2) engage in a discussion on the different contemporary perspectives in assessment; (3) share best practices related to classroom assessment; and (4) establish linkages with professionals in the field of measurement and evaluation.
The event was organized by the Philippine Educational Measurement and Evaluation Association (PEMEA), along with partner organizations such as SEAMEO INNOTECH, Rex Institute for Student Excellence (RISE), PISARA, Premiere Opportunities and Career Advancement Solutions, and Ateneo de Naga.
