INNOTECH and UST partner for teacher training
On 17 March 2016, SEAMEO INNOTECH formalized its partnership with the University of Sto. Tomas (UST), through its College of Education, for collaborative works on teacher training. The signed memorandum of understanding establishes cooperation for organizing seminars, workshops, and trainings of teachers in Southeast Asia, as well as authorship, presentation, or publication of researches on innovative and technological education.
The MOU was signed by SEAMEO INNOTECH Center Director, Dr. Ramon C. Bacani, and UST College of Education Dean, Dr. Allan B. De Guzman. Also present in the signing are Mr. Benito Benoza and Ms. Carolyn Rodriguez from SEAMEO INNOTECH, and Rector Herminio Dagohoy, O.P. and Ms. Lilian Sison from UST.
The University of Sto. Tomas is the oldest existing university in Asia. Its College of Education houses the programs on teacher education, nutrition and dietetics, food technology, and library and information science. Several degree programs of the College have been accredited by the Commission on Higher Education as Centers of Excellence and Centers of Development.
