The second round of workshop focused on refining the materials developed during the March workshop which delved into “Safe Schools” and “Smart Living.” Side-by-side the development of materials, a group of technical experts worked on developing the online platform where said resources will be lodged.
The design and plans to operationalize the National Teacher Training was also discussed during the workshop. The training is envisaged to be delivered and structured using the three modules on: STEM teaching, the online SEADSTEM platform, and contributing additional resources for the platform. The training is expected to be conducted around the third quarter of 2018 up to the first quarter of 2019.
The SEADSTEM regional platform is being developed to improve the quality of instruction in STEM subjects. Through the platform, SEAMEO INNOTECH and Goethe-Institut hope to create a network of educators who create and share high-quality media resources for STEM, in order to facilitate a more effective teaching-learning process in the Southeast Asian region.
