GURO21 and TEACHeXCELS concludes in Region X
SEAMEO INNOTECH has concluded two flexible courses for the month of August 2016, GURO21 (Gearing Up Responsible and Outstanding Teachers in Southeast Asia for the 21st Century) and TEACHeXCELS (Teaching and Learning Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia) for Region X. Revalida of the learners were conducted from 26-27 August 2016 in Cagayan de Oro and Ozamis City.
Forty-three school heads successfully completed the 8-week TEACHeXCELS program, while 163 classroom teachers graduated from the 7-week GURO21 program. Participants shared their learning and experiences from the course as a part of the evaluation.
The Revalida was graced with the presence of guests and tutors – Dr. Allan Farnazo, Regional Director (RD) of the Department of Education (DepEd) Region X; Dr. Cherry Mae Limbaco, Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) of DepEd Misamis Oriental; Dr. Jonathan dela Peña, SDS of DepEd Misamis Occidental; Dr. Jean Veloso, Assistant SDS of DepEd Misamis Oriental; Dr. Rebonfamil Baguio, SDS of Ozamis City; Dr. Ingrid Racoma, Education Consultant and Former RD of DepEd Region X; Dr. Gloria Benigno, Education Consultant and Former RD of Region XI; and Dr. Maria Ines Asuncion, SDS of DepEd Davao City.
Teaching and Learning Excellence in School Leadership for Southeast Asia (TEACHeXCELS) is a flexible learning course addressing the need to strengthen school heads’ capacity to manage the teaching and learning processes in the 21st-century classroom. The course features updates on facilitative teaching, active learning, and differentiated instruction, among others.
Gearing Up Responsible and Outstanding Teachers in Southeast Asia for the 21st Century (GURO21) is a menu of flexible learning courses designed to enhance the capabilities of Southeast Asian teachers in addressing the teaching-learning requirements of the 21st century.
