INNOTECH Completes Pilot Implementation of ALS Monitoring and Evaluation System

INNOTECH joined the team of facilitators during the initial implementation of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Monitoring and Evaluation System (M&E System) in Leyte, Legazpi City, and Masbate. These events were conducted on October 12, 19, and November 8,2023, respectively.  

SEAMEO INNOTECH and DepEd BAE facilitate a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in a monitoring session held in Legazpi City.

The three events followed the previous implementations held in Bulacan and Panabo City. The  monitoring conducted focus group discussions (FGDs) with key stakeholders, schools division officials, focal persons, and ALS teachers. The FGDs were done to collect data on the experience of users and stakeholders at different levels on the pilot implementation of the M&E system.

SEAMEO INNOTECH developed the ALS M&E System as part of the Opportunity 2.0 Program.The Center coordinated with Bureau of Alternative Education (BAE) of the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) and the Education Development Center (EDC) for the creation of the System.

DepEd BAE organized the FGDs in the three monitoring sessions. Mr. Rey Macalindong, the M&E consultant of SEAMEO INNOTECH served as the lead facilitator. 

 Fourteen joined the monitoring FGDs in Leyte while 17 participated in the monitoring event held in Legazpi City. The completion of the pilot implementation and monitoring of the M&E will be followed by a workshop on the system. The workshop, which will be held this December 2023, will cover how a wider-scale implementation of the system will be conducted to selected key M&E champions that will be identified by the DepED BAE.
