17 FLEXIBLE LEARNING TUTORS GET ACCREDITATION

SEAMEO INNOTECH accredited a total of 17 flexible learning tutors (FLTs), 12 from the Philippines and 5 from Thailand, after completing a three-day workshop held from 31 August to 02 September 2011 at the First Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The Filipino FLTs are from SEAMEO INNOTECH’s local partner universities, while the Thai tutors are from the National Institute for the Development of Teachers, Faculty Staff, and Educational Personnel (NIDTEP), INNOTECH’s eXCELS partner institution in Thailand. The workshop included discussions and hands-on sessions in facilitating flexible learning classes. It also included visits to the Global Development and Distance Learning Network (GDLN) – Chulalungkorn University, and the SEAMEO Secretariat (SEAMES) Office. As accredited tutors, the participants will be prioritized in future implementation of flexible learning courses and will be recommended as tutors and course managers to other partner institutions. Phase 2 of the accreditation is scheduled within the year to cover more flexible learning tutors.
