128 ALS Teachers Hone Their Skills on ALS Delivery and Management
INNOTECH conducted the last Alternative Learning System (ALS) Delivery and Management Integration Session last September 30 and October 1, 2023, at Dusit Hotel in Davao City, Philippines. Prior to this session, the Center held sessions in Iloilo City and at SEAMEO INNOTECH in Quezon City. Overall, these events aimed to reinforce the good practices and innovative strategies as well as reflective practices obtained by the ALS teachers during their enrollment in the ALS 2.0 courses on Delivery and Management that ran from April 1 to August 30, 2023. They were guided by a total of 11 Flexible Learning Tutors (FLTs).
INNOTECH used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of learner-centered instruction to the 128 ALS participants who completed the course. Dr. Juan Robertino Macalde, Manager of the Learning Development and Management Office of SEAMEO INNOTECH, provided more insight by highlighting the professional development opportunities presented by participating in the ALS training courses. Mr. Ronnel Victor dela Cruz, the Youth Development Team Leader of the Davao Hub shared the comprehensive set of activities under Opportunity 2.0.
Education Development Center (EDC) under USAID Opportunity 2.0 enabled the partnership between SEAMEO INNOTECH and the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) to create the ALS Delivery and Management courses. Mr. John Alvin Seradoy, the Supervising Education Program Specialist of the Philippine Department of Education Bureau of Alternative Education (DepED BAE) applauded the strong relationship between the EDC, SEAMEO INNOTECH, and DepED BAE.
The three ALS Delivery and Management Integration sessions were organized and held by SEAMEO INNOTECH as part of its mission to constantly develop and manage programs that address the current and emerging competency needs of educators in Southeast Asia.
